Precision Plasma Cutting Systems

Precision Mild Steel Cutting

image

High precision cutting of mild steel uses oxygen plasma and air shield. While oxygen plasma cutting is more expensive than air plasma cutting, the oxygen plasma cuts faster and eliminates contamination in the cut. Oxygen plasma cuts are both more precise and weld ready, with little or no dross, eliminating costly follow-on weld preparation.

High precision mild steel cuts are characterized by:

  • Smooth, contamination free cut surface
  • Minimal top edge rounding
  • 0-3 degrees of bevel
  • Dross free cut surface

The Ultra-Cut® high precision cut process uses XTremeLife™ ® consumable parts technology to maintain the highest cut performance over the useful life of the consumable parts.

Precision Aluminum and Stainless Steel

Thermal Dynamics systems use the Water Mist Secondary process to achieve high precision cut quality on aluminum and stainless steel.

This unique cutting process uses nitrogen plasma and water as a shield. The result is the best cut quality possible on stainless and aluminum, at much lower cost per foot than other cutting processes. Stainless Steel and Aluminum cut with the WMS® process are dross free and ready to weld

The WMS® process uses nitrogen as a plasma gas and water as the shield. The water in the shield stream is divided into its principal components during the cutting process (hydrogen and oxygen). The hydrogen creates a reduced atmosphere in the cut zone, isolating it from contaminants. The result is a clean, dross-free and oxide- free cut surface that is ready to weld. Most of the water used in the cut process is evaporated. image
