High precision cutting of mild steel uses oxygen plasma and air shield. While oxygen plasma cutting is more expensive than air plasma cutting, the oxygen plasma cuts faster and eliminates contamination in the cut. Oxygen plasma cuts are both more precise and weld ready, with little or no dross, eliminating costly follow-on weld preparation.
High precision mild steel cuts are characterized by:
- Smooth, contamination free cut surface
- Minimal top edge rounding
- 0-3 degrees of bevel
- Dross free cut surface
The Ultra-Cut® high precision cut process uses XTremeLife™ ® consumable parts technology to maintain the highest cut performance over the useful life of the consumable parts.
